A Turning Point for Manga ~Svetlana Chmakova~

Well, hello hello I'm feeling mightly scarcatic at the moment I dont know if it shows though nor should i care =D today I have something quite delayed in ways and random in others it's my opinion on a NONE-ASAIN MANGA =D fun~

I felt random and I that this actually made SOME sense now I'm worrying about it but what the hell i'm feeling light headed and bored. This is a comment i made on Svetlana Chmakova a Canadian/russian manga artist who i think has really started the "turning point of manga" thus the title I have typed =P. Any how even if you dont care or think i'm wrong in one way or more. TO ME this has had a BIG influence on my life. Mainly because I live and breath for art (more spicifically and hopefully in the future Manga! ha who knew *rolls eyes*) Anyhow on with the nonsense and ranodm blabing about how I loved her Manga "Dramacon" published in america by Tokyopop luckily it has become very popular and loved amung cocasain reader who are aware of manga and read it (yes, yes their not all only cocasain's i know your out there stop hating I'm chinese FYI (hey majority wins *shrugs*), now calmly continue reading my nonsense for now. And save the losing arguments for later when I still don't care) Ahem- as I was blahbing...i guess this is the point where i copy and paste my actual comment.....

Svetlana Chmakova's Manga: Dramacan

May's opinion of "A Turning point manga" comment

By: May-Tze Fan (oh~ Dug me a hole to crawl into? Dont worry I already made one *crawls* =D)

What I mean by "A turning point manga" is basically that this 'manga' was not created by a japanese or any other kind of asain person but a russian/canadian person! Which I feel is very big deal since most people refer to manga as only somthing made by the Japanses or some sort of asain. I feel this manga does not only gives you a nice glimps of something new and away from the whole idea manga is only Japanese but also a different 'real'. The fact that the whole structure sticks to the original 'manga' format makes it easy to understand and read but the concept, the story and character's personalaties make it something really different compared to what you would usually read in a 'manga'.

CHMAKOVA Svetlana has created a very funny, adorable,romantic, dramatic, relatable, and witty story that many people can really enjoy to read. I myself was quite surprised at how interesting and addictive the story was and how it played out so differently compared to other manga's I have read. The funny, and witty way each and every character interacts with one another and their situations really gives you a refreashing taste of another cultural veiw and feel, on how differently people portray people and society.

I'd seriously give this manga as many thumbs up I can get hold of but that might lead to an unwanted/illegal *cough* crime scene and get me in some trouble before I could actually get enough =P or i'll jsut leave you with this

By the way even though I praise CHMAKOVA Svetlana's work Dramacon alot it doesnt nessarily mean it's perfect there were many parts that were pushed and very random, some didnt make sense, and some places could have been better if done another way, for example, The lead male character matt an explination about his physical condition is VERY NEEDED all they do it talk about his hardships due to his condition, which is also very important but the origins of the condition are very concerning. The flow of the story went well but there are point where it's hard to read due to the organization of the panels, but becasue she stuck to simple easy to read formats over all it was understanable. Now let's talk more spicifically

volume 01: over all good flow intereting start, amusing in more ways then one the way how the main character Christie is introduced as a meek submissive type of girl really makes me wanna stop but the author gave the main character interesting supporting character and situations to entertain the readers while the main character goes though hers/his growth proccess which is later seen or mantioned in some way this is to peek some readers interest so they stick with the story and finish it. To some it may or may not be obvious to tell, but at one point or another reader should be able figure out or notice something relateable to that weak main character that seems to be changing as they read thus makes them want to stick with it and see how it ends.

What i didnt fins as amusing about this story was how unrealistic and overly romantisized the main character Chistie's first encounter with the leading male character Matt. It was pretty pushed but it worked because that's what most girls probably fantizise and wish for, to met a hot stranger and be helped by him but still a little to good to be true this happens alot in this 3 volume series the realistic relatable stuff meter goes up adn down. Ok second to that has to be process fo Christie's grow as a person and her relationship matter with matt, She like the story line goes from one point to another then back in this volume and ONLY this volume galdly so because of that i'm not ganna hate. Moving on to their relationship It's quite dramatic (thus Drama(con) duh) but yeah it was a good twist adn intereting but messed up at teh same time becuse it kinda feels like she packed a 26 episode drama into just 6 chapters so there are some missing bits and rushed bits. but over all it wasnt horirable, it's pretty amazing for something none asain i'm quite happy and proud that the author made it this far it really gives made a different look adn feel.

(p.p.s girls can probably relate to this better then boys BUT I dont discourge the idea of guys reading this I actually think it would do them some good ( > A < ;) they made grow some sort of sense. jks~)

Alive?, not quite dead?.....

RAWR!

Yes I somehow live and dost my computer as well, face to face, we have survived the last few days of a summer hell/paradise before the 2nd stage had broken out (school).

Sept 02 08 we go to school from 10:30-12pm for a 30 min procedure which is handing in our medical forms, getting out timetable, getting our lockers and reviewing stupid rules while at the same time mocking them and debating about who came up with them and if they really expect people to listen (and yes our teacher lead the whole things from the beginning to end). But for me it wasn't that easy, because i forgot my form i wasnt allowed into the calss, I eventually got my form but it wasnt filled out, so it was no use at all. I called my mother and stressed at her (I feel horriable about it) but me with my pride, low IQ, and horriable personality I never apologized T___T(more like avoided her) I plan to say sorry next time I get a chance. It would be nice if it works out but I feel like all I do is apologize and thank my mother it give me a weird feeling of guilt for some reason. My mom never gets mad at me when i stress and stuff well she probably has but i dont remeber any at the moment on yes back to my form. I mentioned that it wasn't filled so i still wasn't allowed to get any of my intended to get things so going to school that day was COMPLETELY POINTLESS AND A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME. On even greater news it was hellishly hot and my new shoes had caused me to yet again re-open a cut on my heel so when i got home it was a bloody mess =____= it was a small cut to yet so much blood....sigh.....other then that the rest of my day was filled with me having a headache and emotional dispute in my room with family members and myself ^^ fantasic right?

Sigh~ and in the end it's my fault and a heavy consious holds me down, But thats to my twisted strange personality at the same time my easy going character takes over, that doesn't last long though soon after I'm stressing about my art and future and art again them more art! =D =D.

I dont know if i mentioned this in my profile but i want to be a graphic novel artist in the future ^^ and i know that i have one hell of a road ahead of me in the future. I'm looking forward to it yet very, very ,very afraid at the same time it's just the normal uneasy feeling every unconfident person has when they are half assing their life and know it but is to half assed to do anything about it and thus leading them to use this "half assed" personality trait as an excuse, though i know what i am which is a half asser, thanks to the variations of personalities that my family holds; a very asain mother, perfectionist to most things, looks out for the best for her children, stresses good taste and a nice life/lifestyle. The eldest sibling my older sister she is a very pretty person, she acts like a child time to time, but she is a very nice and smart person, with respectable and unrespectable aspects(only from my point of view) but thanks to her i have grown to be more mature and have a more open mind. i personaly think she resembles my mother alot in many ways. but moving on my father is a bia's person? =____= but at the same time he's a funny person, he is very serious about his children and their lives, even though he expresses it in a negative way, but what asain parents dont think that their children could do better then getting A+'s or 100%, even so, this is his way of looking out for the best in his kids. Finally the the 2nd oldest sibling of min who also resembles my father the most is my brother, how do i say this...my brothers offen misunderstood, as a jerk, he really isnt liek my father he's a serious, as well as funny person, ever since i was small i admired my brother for his skills and smarts. Even though he was a mean and harsh person, but that was because he looked at the world differently then others every one does, thanks to my brother i think i'm a little smarter then i sould have been. he gives me a s erious look on the world and things unlike my sister he has made me to grow up as an indifferent person to bad situations and to think things deeper then they appear.

i jsut noticed how did i get into writting so much nonsense about my family all of a sudden this was jsut suppose to be a entery about my horriable school day and it somehow ended up about my weid family and my current opinion on them well most likely i wasnt even able to prtray 90% of my resepect and thankfullness to them in the short discription, basically they made me who i am, should they be at fault, or prised, is up to reader's, freinds adn reandom ppl who know me ^^

Well....

well...yeah because of my current situations that just started yesterday afternoon not to long after i got home from a Dim Sum with my family. I get home and turn on my computer then things get complicated, my anitvirus program just died, then when i tried to get a new one (the asain way) things got worse i DL'd one and everything seemed to be going fine. A sign poped up telling me to restart my computer so i did, and after i did....my computer...died.....i hate myself. Yeah who else is there to blame but myself T___T other then the people who never taught me how to use a computer properly with care <___< (just making stupid excuses) sigh.......i'm not very pleased that my computer died so suddenly and the fact i'm starting school next week doesn't help...=__=...i'm so skrewed T___T gah!? what am i to do *sits in dark corner* sigh....anyways technically i can still use the computer but only on "safe mode" i'm fine with that and all but "safe mode" had many restrications and such so it's hard to continue life as always, the bigggest pain about "safe mode's" restrictions has to be the fact THERE'S NO SOUND WHAT SO EVER!?????? i cant watch any of my shows!! it's no fair!!! T____T though this did manke me realise how much of my time, love, adn life i really spend on the computer, i've come to the conlusion i'm pithetic =D which i already kind had and idea of sigh........so moving on the real reason i'm typing this is because i couldnt think of another ways to save my manga ideas on my compter since another of the safe mode restictions is the inability to save anything to a disk =___= gah....... so all of everything on my computer thath i have not previously saves is now indanger od noneexistance T_____________T so i plan of copying them and a bunch of links and blah to here ahaha~~~ i hope this work *dies*

Fashion/Jewellery Designing
